FAQs

What is Polarap?

Polarap™ is a blanket of liquid fibres and tiny air gaps that fold around any item. The fibres turn from liquid to solid when placed in a fridge. The air gaps fill as the fibres harden and then open up as the fibres soften, slowing the melting process.

Can I replace my regular ice pack with Polarap in my cool bag?

Yes. Use Polarap™ to wrap the items you want to keep cold, place in the bag or cool bag and then stack the other items around it.

How can I get the best out of Polarap?

Polarap™ works best when it's used inside a bag or other carry device. It is particularly effective when wrapped around liquids because it enhances their cold retaining properties. Polarap™ freezes in your fridge and doesn't require a freezer.

What if my Polarap leaks?

Discard immediately, You can dispose of contents/container to an approved waste disposal plant or contact us direct and we will send you a bag so that the pouch can be returned to us safely.

What should I not do with Polarap?

Do not drop when frozen. Avoid contact with sharp objects. No direct contact with food. Do not place near open flame. Do not use for unintended purposes. Do not consume contents. Do not heat or microwave. Keep away from children. Take care when wrapping glass bottles

How do I dispose of Polarap safely?

You can dispose of the contents/container to an approved waste disposal plant or contact us direct and we will send you a bag so that the pouch can be returned to us safely.

How long will Polarap last?

Polarap™ gives extended protection using its Fibre-flex ice fibres that form the core of Polarap™ and can be used repeatedly. Care should be taken to avoid damage to the pouch. It is lightweight and can be re-used repeatedly.

Can I chill food and drink with Polarap?

Polarap™ stores cold and uses this to hold items at their chill temperature. Using Polarap™ to chill items will use up its stored cold. We recommend you use the fridge to chill both your item and the Polarap™ at the same time. No Cool Bag is required.

Where can I use Polarap?

Polarap™ has multiple uses: for example picnics, travel, work events, camping, day trips, lunch bags, and fishing.

Why has my Polarap not frozen?

Polarap™ uses highly engineered ice-like fibres that freeze and melt in a precise temperature range. Freezing can take longer if the fridge temperature is above 6°C or the door is constantly opened or the fridge is packed with other items that are warm and need cooling.

How do I know whether Polarap is ready to use?

The outside layer of Polarap™ should be rock hard.

Can I wash Polarap?

Hand wipe Polarap™ in warm water.

How long will Polarap keep items cold?

Polarap™ keeps chilling even though it looks melted. This is because when you wrap items in Polarap™ when the outside looks melted the inside can still be frozen. The TLX Fibre-Flex™ cold fibre technology wraps and chills.

How long will it take Polarap to freeze?

We recommend leaving wrapped items in the fridge overnight to ensure everything is set to its chill temperature. For items that are already chilled Polarap™ freezes around them in a few hours.

Can I put Polarap in the freezer?

Yes. Polarap™ will freeze quickly in the freezer. Just remember to take wrapped items out before they turn to ice! We would recommend no longer than 90 minutes freezing time.

What size is Polarap?

Pouch size: 630mm x 230mm.

How can I keep items cold for long periods of time using Polarap?

Wind Polarap™ around items as many times as possible. Keep Polarap™ away from warm air movement for example in a tote or cool bag. Keep out of direct sunlight. Combine Polarap™ with a liquid such as a cold drink so that the combined cold energy of the drink and Polarap™ keeps other items cold. Always store at the bottom of a bag.

How should I care for Polarap?

Do not fold Polarap™ when the fibres are frozen. The hard fibres are like sharp needles and tests have shown that in very rare circumstance these fibres can penetrate the tough Polarap™ pouch skin, which in certain circumstances, could leak.

What quality control checks has Polarap undergone?

Each Polarap™ carries information certifying that the product has been fully inspected before dispatch.

Are the Polarap fibres dangerous?

The Polarap™ fibres can cause skin irritation. If handled follow the instructions on the pouch.

Yes. Should you have any questions, just call the Polarap™ hot line +44 1204 695 666 or email support@polarap.com

Will Polarap freeze outside in cold weather?
